Michael F. Nuñez

I'm a journalist working in New York, writing about Silicon Alley for the International Business Times.

Before moving to New York, I was an editor at city magazines in Seoul and Hong Kong, where I wrote profiles of artists, entrepreneurs and everyday expats.

No matter where I am, I enjoy talking to people about their deepest passions.

Cassé! from CNN

CNN

Cassé!  = “You got burned” in French;  directly translated as “break.”

Anyway, CNN gave me some “cassé” action yesterday, when I found out I wasn’t qualified enough for their newsroom : (

They want interns who can speak Cantonese or Mandarin.  Ouch.  Oh well.  I’m not sure I’d survive for long working for a broadcast company anyways.

In more important news:

I was offered an internship with the International Herald Tribune today;  I turned it down.  Could this be the biggest mistake of my life?  Maybe… but probably not.

I’ve done the daily thing, and it’s just not what I’m looking for right now.  The political reporting I’ve done in Missouri was great experiance, but it’s time to break into the world of magazine journalism.
