Almost Famous
First Day at Work… Today was my first day working for Time Out Hong Kong.  My morning didn’t start off too well.  When I arrived @ the building, I realized I had forgotten which floor the office was actually on;  I ended up riding the elevator from the 10th to the 18th floor, hitting every stop on the way up. When I finally found the floor, everything was cool, though.  My editor...

I was given a small writing assignment earlier this week, and I recieved a response very soon after I turned it in.  It...

Birthday Celebration
My 21st birthday was great.  I went out with a bunch of friends, and we hopped around a few different bars.  I was reasonably drunk for a while, but at some point in the night, things quickly accelerated; the absinthe was still chewing my mind apart the following morning.  It was quite a bit of fun anyway. Also, my floormates treated me to a very popular HKU tradition: cornering.  I was picked...

Cassé! from CNN
Cassé!  = “You got burned” in French;  directly translated as “break.” Anyway, CNN gave me some “cassé” action yesterday, when I found out I wasn’t qualified enough for their newsroom : ( They want interns who can speak Cantonese or Mandarin.  Ouch.  Oh well.  I’m not sure I’d survive for long working for a broadcast company...

Chicano in China
Yes, indeed.  I’ve made it to Hong Kong (barely) alive. I stumbled into China in the late evening of August 28th.  Times were hectic prior to my departure from The States and not much has changed since my arrival in China.  I’ve spent my time climbing (literally) thousands of stairs, sweating in the 90-degree weather with outrageous humidity, and waiting in a variety of offices. Among the chaos,...
